Drones are becoming increasingly more popular. With the increase in availability there is an inevitable increase in risks associated with these unique devices.
Risks associated with the use of drones include but are not limited to:
Mt Sima strictly prohibits the operation or use of aerial drones, remotely piloted aircraft systems, model aircrafts, and remote control aircrafts to be flown over our ski runs, chalet, and parking areas by the general public. This prohibition includes drones filming or videotaping, as well as any drone used by media or journalists operating above Sima property unless permitted by written consent from Sima management. This prohibition on drone use extends to any drone launched or operated from the ski area property, as well as drones launched from private property outside of the ski area boundaries.
Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by Transport Canada, the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately establishment by the ski area, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or release of liability.
Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your guest privileges at Mt Sima, or season pass, as well as confiscation of any equipment, and may subject violators to any damage including but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries, or regulatory fines and legal fees.
