BOOKING & REFUND POLICIES

Mt. Sima will refund a Season Pass in the event of:

  • Injury or Illness preventing participation in the sport. Support documentation from a physician must accompany the request.
  • A job transfer by immediate employer at time of pass purchase, necessitating a change of residence outside a reasonably accessible radius of the ski area. Support documentation from an employer must accompany the request.

Other than the conditions listed above, your Season Pass is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds will be processed according to the following schedule:

September 2nd up to October 31st 100% less a $30 (plus tax) administrative fee
November 1st to November 30th50% less a $30 (plus tax) administrative fee
December 1st to December 15th25% less a $30 (plus tax) administrative fee
  • Spring Passes are refundable up to 1 week after effective date, minus a $25.00 + GST administration fee. After the first week there will be NO REFUNDS.
  • After effective date and up until 3 weeks, a credit may be requested only for serious injury, major medical condition. Credit requests for medical reasons must be supported by a doctor’s certificate.
  • A fee of $20 applies to replacement cards for lost season passes.
  • Due to the high number of “forgotten” season passes and the cost of lift tickets, you will be charged a fee of $10 for a lift pass.

There are NO REFUNDS on day tickets or punch passes.

  • With a 72hr notice, we can make changes to your ticket (date, time or keep on file as a credit).
  • Within 72hrs of the time of your ticket, no changes can be made.
  • Should you give/sell your ticket to someone, please email Guest Services with new information at least 24hrs in advance or bring proof of exchange to confirm at the ticket window.
  • If your name isn’t on the ticket, the person who purchased it must be with you.
  • Paragliders will be able to make changes to their ticket at any time should the weather not be safe to fly. Please notify us as soon as possible should you need changes.

Certain exceptions apply:

  • If the lift is shut down due to mechanical circumstances such as (but not limited to):
    • fire
    • vandalism
    • labor disputes
    • mechanical failures (excluding power failures)

before or within the first 30 minutes of ticket start time, a credit in the amount of the lift ticket will be put towards purchaser’s account. A notice of closure email will be sent out to those with pre-purchased lift tickets. Email Guest Services to use your credit.

Lift Tickets that fall off:

  • If your day ticket falls off, you will require a proof of purchase to obtain a replacement. You are responsible for your ticket after purchase.

Programs are held unless we are closed.
Helmet mandatory to participate in all Snow School programs.

  • Participants who cannot continue due to illness or injury once the program has started, will be allowed a credit equal to the pro-rated value of the remaining lesson(s).
  • Should Mt. Sima cancel a lesson, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at select times in the season. Should no time work, a credit will be applied to purchaser’s account.
  • No refund, credit or make up day will be given to participants who elect to miss lessons for any reason.
  • No refund, credit or make up day will be given to people who buy the wrong product for any reason.

Private Lessons & Discovery Packages

  • Within 24hrs before the start of lesson – 100% non-refundable.
  • With more than 24hrs notice lesson can be changed to another date/time.

Holiday & Weekend Camps, Specialty Programs

  • Cancel 14 days prior to camp start date – Full refund, less the $25 administration fee.
  • Cancel within 14 days to camp start date – 70% refundable.
  • Cancel 24hrs before the start of camp – 100% non-refundable.

Schools on Snow Program

  • Cancel within 14 days of group lesson – 70% refundable.
  • Cancel 24hrs before group lesson – 100% non-refundable.
  • Changes must be approved by Snow School manager and be made no later than 7 days prior to visit.

OTHER POLICIES

-30 or below:

The hill will be closed. In the event of a closure in the middle of an operational day, day pass holders will receive a credit for a future day pass.

-25 to -30:

An operational decision will be made based on mitigating or exacerbating factors. This decision will be published on our website, our Facebook page and on our snowphone (8676677547). In the event of a closure in the middle of an operational day, day pass holders will receive a credit for a future day pass.

Please Note:

Outside of these specific circumstances The Friends of Mount Sima Society and the Mount Sima management reserves the right to close based on exceptional environmental factors (high winds, icing etc.)

Clean air at Mt Sima

For the enjoyment of everyone visiting and supporting Mt Sima, smoking of any kind (tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes and vaporizers) is prohibited in the following areas at Mt Sima. Thank you for your cooperation and your consideration of others.

  • Riding the chairlift or handle tow
  • Lift lines
  • Ski runs
  • Bike trails
  • Base area
  • Lounge deck

Tobacco products ONLY are permitted at designated smokers’ area at the base. There is currently no area at SIMA where cannabis may be smoked.

Mt Sima strictly prohibits the operation or use of aerial drones, remotely piloted aircraft systems, model aircrafts, and remote control aircrafts to be flown over our ski runs, chalet, and parking areas by the general public.  This prohibition includes drones filming or videotaping, as well as any drone used by media or journalists operating above Sima property unless permitted by written consent from Sima management.  This prohibition on drone use extends to any drone launched or operated from the ski area property, as well as drones launched from private property outside of the ski area boundaries.

Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by Transport Canada, the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately establishment by the ski area, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or release of liability.

Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your guest privileges at Mt Sima, or season pass, as well as confiscation of any equipment, and may subject violators to any damage including but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries, or regulatory fines and legal fees.

As a user courtesy Mt. SIMA attempts to safeguard all items we find on the property. We do not accept any responsibility for lost items. Please note: We hold valuable items including wallets, purses, cell phones, credit cards, and identification for 90 days. Any loose Credit or Debit cards are kept for 24hrs before being destroyed. Passports will be kept for one week.

Items of lesser value are held for the duration of the month after they were found. At the end of that month they will be disposed of.

SIMA’s policy on snowbikes/snowscooters is as follows:

  • These devices are permitted contingent on the following criteria:
    • Must have tether/leash or other ‘positive retention device’ that means it cannot be detached from user accidentally. Leashes to be used at all times.
    • Must have metal edges.

If you have a concern about a particular device, please bring it to the attention of the Operations or General Manager.

Mount Sima ski resort recognizes that these are uncertain times for our guests due to the Covid- 19 pandemic. Thus we have made adjustments to our deposit policy.
Deposits to confirm preseason training will be 15% of your total quote.
Deposits will be accepted from July 15th to October 1st.

Cancellation policy
If the preseason program is cancelled anytime before October 1st, 2020, Mount Sima will provide a full refund of your deposit.
If the preseason program is cancelled anytime between October 1st and October 15th, 2020, Mount Sima will refund 50% of your deposit.
If the preseason program is cancelled anytime after October 15th, 2020, Mount Sima will not be able to provide a refund due to costs associated with preparation of the ski hill.
