Booking & Refund Policies

SEASON PASSES

Season Passes are refundable if cancelled before December 4th, minus a $25.00 + GST administration fee. After December 4th there will be NO REFUNDS.

After opening day and up until December 25th, a credit may be requested only for serious injury, major medical condition. Credit requests for medical reasons must be supported by a doctor’s certificate.

A fee of $20 applies to replacement cards for lost season passes.

Due to the high number of “forgotten” season passes and the cost of lift tickets, you will be charged a fee of $10 for a lift pass.

LIFT TICKETS

There are NO REFUNDS on day tickets or 5 day punch pass.

Certain exceptions apply:

If the lift is shut down due to environmental and mechanical circumstances such as fire, vandalism, labor disputes, weather conditions or mechanical failures within the first 30 minutes of full day or half day start time, and at the discretion of management, the lift cannot resume service a credit in the amount of the lift ticket will apply.

Lift Tickets that fall off:

If your day ticket falls off, your ticket will not be replaced without proof of purchase. You are responsible for your ticket after purchase.

SNOW SCHOOL

Programs are held unless we are closed due to weather.

Holiday & Weekend Camps, Specialty Programs

  • Cancel 14 days prior to camp start date – Full refund, less the $25 administration fee.
  • Cancel within 14 days to camp start date – 70% refundable.
  • Cancel 24hrs before the start of camp – 100% non-refundable.

Participants who cannot continue due to illness or injury once the program has started, will be allowed a credit equal to the pro-rated value of the remaining lesson(s) in the form of a Mt. Sima gift card.

No refund, credit or make up day will be given to participants who elect to miss lessons for any reason.

Should Mt. Sima cancel a lesson, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at select times in the season.

No refund, credit or make up day will be given to people who buy the wrong product for any reason.

Schools on Snow Program

  • Cancel within 14 days of group lesson – 30% cancellation fee
  • Cancel 24hrs before group lesson – 100% cancellation fee.

Changes must be approved by Snow School manager and be made no later than 7 days prior to visit.

Private Lessons & Discovery Packages

  • 24hrs before the start of lesson – 100% non-refundable.

Pre-purchased lesson or Discovery Package will have an expiry date at the end of the current season and cannot be carried over to the following season.

Credit requests for medical reasons must be supported by a doctor’s certificate, by March 31st of the current season.

Cold Weather Policy

-30 or below:

The hill will be closed. In the event of a closure in the middle of an operational day, day pass holders will receive a credit for a future day pass.

-25 to -30:

An operational decision will be made based on mitigating or exacerbating factors. This decision will be published on our website, our Facebook page and on our snowphone (8676677547). In the event of a closure in the middle of an operational day, day pass holders will receive a credit for a future day pass.

Please Note:

Outside of these specific circumstances The Friends of Mount Sima Society and the Mount Sima management reserves the right to close based on exceptional environmental factors (high winds, icing etc.)

Smoking Policy

Clean air at Mt Sima

For the enjoyment of everyone visiting and supporting Mt Sima, smoking of any kind (tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes and vaporizers) is prohibited in the following areas at Mt Sima. Thank you for your cooperation and your consideration of others.

  • Riding the chairlift or handle tow
  • Lift lines
  • Ski runs
  • Bike trails
  • Base area
  • Lounge deck

Tobacco products ONLY are permitted at designated smokers’ area at the base. There is currently no area at SIMA where cannabis may be smoked.

Drone Policy

Mt Sima strictly prohibits the operation or use of aerial drones, remotely piloted aircraft systems, model aircrafts, and remote control aircrafts to be flown over our ski runs, chalet, and parking areas by the general public.  This prohibition includes drones filming or videotaping, as well as any drone used by media or journalists operating above Sima property unless permitted by written consent from Sima management.  This prohibition on drone use extends to any drone launched or operated from the ski area property, as well as drones launched from private property outside of the ski area boundaries.

Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by Transport Canada, the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately establishment by the ski area, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or release of liability.

Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your guest privileges at Mt Sima, or season pass, as well as confiscation of any equipment, and may subject violators to any damage including but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries, or regulatory fines and legal fees.

Lost and Found Policy

As a user courtesy Mt. SIMA attempts to safeguard all items we find on the property. We do not accept any responsibility for lost items. Please note: We hold valuable items including wallets, purses, cell phones, credit cards, and identification for 90 days. Any loose Credit or Debit cards are kept for 24hrs before being destroyed. Passports will be kept for one week.

Items of lesser value are held for the duration of the month after they were found. At the end of that month they will be disposed of.

Snowbikes/Scooters Policy

SIMA’s policy on snowbikes/snowscooters is as follows:

  • These devices are permitted contingent on the following criteria:
    • Must have tether/leash or other ‘positive retention device’ that means it cannot be detached from user accidentally. Leashes to be used at all times.
    • Must have metal edges.
